It has helped me get to know my camera a little better, and has produced some great pictures, of which these are just a few - You can view all the Orchids on my previous photo hub.

All of the photos below were taken with a Canon EOS Rebel.

The level of detail you can get with a 15.1 megapixel is extraordinary. When you view the snaps on the PC the textures and colors you get is amazing, and you can appreciate the beauty of a flower on a whole new level.

Stimulate your Senses with Flowers and Plants

While I hope that these pictures alone will brighten up your day, if you do not have any flowers at home or in your garden, you should think about introducing a bit of color. Start to grow a few plants and flowers and it will stimulate all of your senses. You will get a splash of color on a dreary day, and that can really help to brighten your mood. Get the balance of plants and flowers right, and you'll have color to match the seasons and year round flowers to help keep your spirits up.

The sight of brightly colored flowers every time you look out the window can make an huge difference to your mood. When you use colors effectively they can have a profound effect on your mood, and can help to promote inner healing according to many holistic therapists. Color can help to stimulate the body's energy centers (chakras), and get it right colors for you and you will get a positive mental and physical boost, or so the theory goes. Plus they look nice.

The aroma from flowers has long been known to have a healing effect. Turn a walk in the yard into an aromatherapy session with lavenders and rosemary for a deeply relaxing effect. Geraniums have a wonderfully calming scent and the the smell of roses is deeply relaxing.

Plants and flowers will turn your garden into a haven for wildlife, and flowers will help bring your garden to life. Flowers attract insects, insects attract birds, and watching nature thriving in your garden is wonderfully relaxing. Listening to the birds singing, the foliage rustling and the bees buzzing, poour a glass of wine and say goodbye to the stresses of the day.

Growing aromatic herbs not only gives a wonderful aroma to your garden, but will let you give your mealtimes some serious bunch. Start a herb garden with oregano, mint, chives, coriander(cilantro) for flavor, and rosemary and basil equally for the aroma as for use in the kitchen.Fresh herbs in your food adds an extra dimension, and its great being able to just pick what you need.
